Sabari’s Greenos Celebrate Ozone Day

Port Blair, Sept. 18: The Greeno Eco Club Of Government Senior Secondary School, Sabari, Middle Andaman observed “International Day For The Prevention Of The Ozone Layer.” The theme for this year is “Protecting our atmosphere for generations to come””. Various programmes were conducted to observe the day in a meaningful manner.

Earlier Principal of the school highlighted on the importance of the observance of the day. He also released the pamphlet and special wall magazine on ozone day developed by the eco club and appreciated the efforts done by the club to create environmental awareness amoung the students.

Shri Bency Joy, Eco club Incharge also expressed his views on the importance of celebrating the day and appealed to the students for following the tips included in the specially designed pamphlet created by the school eco club. Green cadets displayed the specially created pamphlet at prominent places of Rangat and nearby villages.

In drawing competition S Kausalya, VII A, B Priya VII A and Santpal Ram VIII A bagged the first three positions. In slogan writing competition, the slogan written by Rohit kumar Sil, XA was declared as the best slogan. Articles displayed by M S Manjusha XI, Altaf Hussain XI and Varsha Lakra XI bagged the first three positions.

Congratulating the students, Principal of the school highlighted on the importance of the observance of the day and also the efforts done by the club to create environmental awareness among the school children and local community.
