Land Donor Seeks Appointment as DRM

Port Blair, May 8: Shri Sheo Ram, S/o Late Ram Dulare, R/o of Beodnabad, an unemployed youth belonging to very poor family has donated his piece of land for the construction of school building at Govt Middle School Beodanabad. He could have sold it for overcoming his poverty but he wanted to use it for the welfare of the school going children of these islands and set an example for others.

In return, to earn his livelihood, he requested for an appointment as DRM in Education Department.  Accordingly the PCC President Kuldeep Rai Sharma has requested the Director of Education to consider a post under his directorate so that the land donor may be able to support his family.

LG to visit Rangat, Mayabunder on May 9

Port Blair, May 8: The Hon’ble Lt. Governor, Lt General (Retd) Bhopinder Singh, PVSM, AVSM, will be on a day’s visit to Rangat and Mayabunder on May 09, 2013.

The programme of the Lt. Governor includes inauguration of Fish Landing Centres at Rangat Bay and Pokadera, Mayabunder and meeting with PRI Members of North & Middle Andaman.

On completion of visit, the Lt. Governor will return to Port Blair on the same day in the afternoon.

Public Notice For IGNOU Students And General Public

Port Blair, May 8: It has come to the notice of IGNOU Regional Centre, Port Blair that some mischievous persons are using fake websites in the name of IGNOU or are using IGNOU’s domain name in a misleading way to cheat the public/ students by giving false and misleading information.  Some of the websites, unauthorizedly, may even promise online admission to IGNOU programmes. One of the newspapers has also highlighted this issue for the knowledge and awareness of the public at large.

In view of the above, IGNOU has urged the general public and one and all that the IGNOU maintains only one main Official Website under the URL Address: http://www.ignou.ac.in. Apart from this, all the Regional Centres across the country also maintain regional websites, URLs of which are available at the respective Contact Details under Regional Centres link on Home Page of above main IGNOU website. In case of any information, please contact the nearest Regional Centre of IGNOU.

IGNOU will not be responsible for any incident of cheating by any unscrupulous person or website, a communication said.
