Power supply will remain suspended in some of the areas on 18.05.2013 from 0730 hours to 1500 hours for shifting of HT/LT line to the roadside at Kalapathar, providing additional supports to HT line at Kadakachang, replacement of damaged poles at Stewartgunj and other preventive maintenance work of Panel-V feeder under Ferrargunj Sub-Division.
The areas to be affected by power disruption are Bambooflat, Wimbedygunj. Ferrargunj and adjoining areas.
The works will be carried out subject to weather condition.
There shall also be interruption of power supply from Bakultala to Baratang in Baratang feeder on 18th May 2013 from 0700 hours to 1300 hours for carrying out urgent line maintenance work. The work shall not be done in case of inclement weather.

In a press-note, the Executive Engineer (SA) of the Electricity department has appealed to the consumers/general public of South Andaman area to bring to the notice of nearest Site Office occurrence of any line fault, line snapping due to the prevailing cyclonic weather condition for prompt rectification of fault and resumption of power supply and to avoid any untoward incident.

Port Blair, May 14: PCC President Kuldeep Rai Sharma and all leaders deeply mourn the sad demise of Shri Amit Goel, 60 yrs, Prop of Rameshwar Dayal & Sons who has breathed his last on 12th May 2013 at mainland.
Meanwhile the PCC President and leaders of the Congress Party have also mourned the sudden demise of Smti Nabisa Begum, Ex-Councillor, PBMC R/o Dignabad who breathed her last today at G.B. Pant. She was 71.
