Port Blair, Dec. 18: Electricity Department, A&N Administration being the State Designated Agency (SDA) to enforce the Energy Conservation Building Code (ECBC) as per section 15 (a) of the EC Act 2001 has notified Andaman & Nicobar Islands Energy Conservation Building Code Rule, 2019 & Andaman & Nicobar Islands Energy Conservation Building Code 2019 in official gazette of the UT of Andaman & Nicobar Islands on 22/8/2019.   Port Blair Municipal Council Building (Amendment) Bye- laws, incorporating A&N Islands ECBC 2019 has also been notified in the gazette during February 2021.

Port Blair, Dec. 17: An oath taking ceremony of the 3rd batch of Lower School Course of Head Constables of Andaman & Nicobar Police held at Police Training School, Prothrapur on 16/12/2023, marked the culmination of rigorous training, commitment and unwavering dedication exhibited by the Police Personnel.

The “oath of service” to these Head Constables was administered by Smti. Varsha Sharma, IPS, Principal PTS during the function.

Port Blair, Dec. 17: The Member of Parliament, A&N Islands, Shri. Kuldeep Rai Sharma has raised the issue regarding the Amalgamated Information Technology Cadre (AITC) with the Hon'ble Lt Governor of Andaman & Nicobar Islands demanding immediate action.

In his letter he mentioned that the AITC, established in the year 2000 by consolidating isolated posts from various Line Departments, consists of 70 officials who have played a pivotal role in implementing key IT initiatives across various line departments of the A&N Administration.

Swaraj Dweep, Dec. 17: In a remarkable display of diligence and professionalism, the Swaraj Dweep Police have successfully solved the blind case of an attempted murder that was reported on September 14, 2023. On the dreadful day, the victim was attacked inside his own house by unkown persons. The collaborative efforts of the police force, led by Inspector N. Zainuddin, SHO PS Swaraj Dweep, resulted in the swift identification and arrest of the accused.
