DCSA Suneel Anchipaka Personally Monitors the Management

Port Blair, Aug 27: Having appointed a Nodal Officer to oversee the functioning of COVID-19 management at GB Pant Hospital, Port Blair, the Deputy Commissioner, South Andaman, Shri Suneel Anchipaka today informed the media few effective measures have already been taken and being implemented at the GB Pant Hospital. He also said that more steps are being planned for intensive monitoring.

Explaining the measures taken by the District Administration, Anchipaka said that Police have been deployed at GB Pant COVID Care Centre along with Parakram to stop unauthorized/ illegal access. A roaster for doctor/ paramedical staff/ sanitary staff has been prepared along with reserved/ link In-charge

He also said that 6 dedicated ambulances have been placed round the clock at GB Pant Covid Centre.

Exclusive teams made for bed sheet/ pillow changing, sanitization of COVID Ward, bathroom and hospital area and a Daily chart has been prepared to put up outside the bathroom for cleaning staff.

There is a complete cordon off of the area designated as COVID management centre at GB Pant. Call bells has been placed in the wards of COVID positive patients.

Continuous photographical update is being received by the Deputy Commissioner on cleanliness in wards/ bathroom and food distribution etc. Timing along with menu of diet has also been prepared and duly followed and arrangement for the same has been made. Meanwhile the duty roster for Helpline 102 is also prepared.

The DCSA further informed that 50 Jugs for distribution of tea/ milk for COVID patients twice a day has been provided. Temperate screening alongwith roster of screening staff for all incoming patients/ staff/ doctors etc. at OPD and COVID ward of GB Pant has been setup.

Four trolley type dustbins and 20 static dustbins has been installed for proper disposal of medical and  bio-medical waste along with dedicated staff for waste segregation and disposal placed on duty.

The Administration is also setting up testing facility for incoming patients with co-morbidities in GB Pant ward will be done by tomorrow morning. In and out register with monitoring of all staff / doctors/ patients etc. entering and exiting the COVID ward of GB Pant Hospital has been set up. A dedicated room for ambulance driver has also been set up.

He further said that a special ward for suspected COVID patient has also been setup within COVID management centre at GB Pant Hospital.

The Deputy Commissioner is ensuring a round the clock inspection along with the ADM to ensure proper management of COVID Centre in GB Pant Hospital.
