CCS Strikes Again, Recovers More than 6 Kilos of Ganja

Port Blair, Oct. 20: An information was received by Inspr. Mahesh Kr. Yadav, SHO, PS Central Crime Station as per which 02 two persons one male & one female of West Bengal, Kolkata were to arrive at Port Blair from Kolkata by Indian Airlines flight on 18/10/2020. They were to carry a large quantity of ganja for delivering to one Rajesh Kumar Bepari at Dollygunj. The same was conveyed to Dy. SP (CID) and on his direction a team comprising Inspr. Mahesh Kr. Yadav, SHO, PS CCS, ASI Vijay Shankar, Head Constable Shibani Biswas, Constable K. Rajendran, Raja Rao, Mohd. Imran and Hari Krishna Yadav was formed which rushed to Dollygunj and waited for arrival of accused persons.

The informer pointed out one male & female who came near Unique Bar & Hotel, Dollygunj. Meanwhile, accused Rajesh Kumar Bepari also reached there and received bag from the male person. The raiding team without loss of time intercepted them and on asking, their details they disclosed their name as Kamal Dutta S/o Jamani Kanta Dutta R/o North Durganagar Sahid Dinesh Sarani, Rabindra Nagar, Kolkata, West Bengal and Smti Sabita Mistry W/o Shri Bablu Mistry R/o Madhya Durganagar, Mandi Lane, Rabindra Nagar, Kolkata, West Bengal and Rajesh Kumar Bepari S/o Shri Hira Lall Bepari R/o School Line behind School Line School.

During frisking and search, the raiding team recovered 6.310 Kg illicit ganja from their possession. The raid was headed by Sh. Jagdev Singh Yadav, DANIPS, Dy.SP (CID) under the overall supervision of Sh. Anant Mittal, IPS, SP(CID).             

In the last recent 20 days the Central Crime Station has detected 05 cases of NDPS and arrested 14 drug peddlers and is leaving no stone unturned to eradicate the menace of drugs from the islands and save the youth of Andaman.

The Andaman & Nicobar Police has a strict zero tolerance policy and is taking all possible steps in making these islands free from anti-social activities and is keeping strict vigil to stop gambling, smuggling and proliferation of narcotics substances in these Islands.
