New Delhi, Oct. 23: Rashtriya Raksha University-RRU, an Institution of National Importance under the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, is committed towards attaining academic excellence in the field of national security and policing in the country.
School of Internal Security and Police Administration (SISPA), under the aegis of the RRU, is engaged in imparting immersive security education and training in interdisciplinary areas to security forces, both in the public and private sector.
Private security industry in India makes a significant contribution in providing employment and income opportunities to the Yuva Shakti of the country. Imparting quality training to the young men and women to acquire necessary skill sets to become efficient security personnel is the need of the hour.
In order to attain this objective, RRU shall develop world-class academic modules for an online portal- www.cissacademy.com which was recently launched to train private security providers across the country. Developed by the CISS Academy for Skill Human Development Pvt Ltd which earlier this year signed an MoU with the SISPA of the Rashtriya Raksha University, this portal shall empower the youth by equipping them with requisite skills to become an effective security professional.
On the occasion of the launch of this portal, Vice Chancellor of the University, Dr Bimal Patel said, “Through this portal, RRU-CISS will work towards developing specific skills and knowledge sets for professionals such as Unarmed Security Guard, Armed security guard, Security Supervisor, CCTV supervisor, Security Officer, Personal security officer, Assignment Manager and Investigator among others.” He further added that there exists a huge untapped export market of trained manpower services in this sector which can be catered through this portal and will contribute to nation’s export of trained manpower to various parts of the world.
Dr. Akshat Mehta, Dean SISPA addressing the participants highlighted the importance of focussing upon the qualitative dimensions of training and education in Private Security. He further asked the private security industry to work towards self-regulation for improving the adherence to PSARA 2005.
Through its various academic, training and research endeavours, RRU strives to strengthen the security infrastructure of the country. This MoU shall further the University’s efforts towards attaining this objective.
