Port Blair, Nov. 1: Andaman & Nicobar Police observed Rashtriya Ekta Diwas (National unity Day) on 31st October, to mark the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, popularly known as “Iron Man of India” who played a crucial role in the unification of India. 31st October is observed all over the country as a day of special occasion, to foster and reinforce our dedication to preserve and strengthen the unity, integrity and security of our nation, by celebrating it as Rashtriya Ekta Diwas (National Unity Day).
On the occasion, 07 (seven) contingents of A&N Police/CAPF, comprising of 01 Platoon each from Executive Police (male & female), IRBn, Fire Service, Home Guard and Police Bands led by parade commander Shri Kalaivanan, IPS, marched impressively in sync with marching contingents of CRPF, NDRF from Dugong Guest House (PBMC) to Government Press, Port Blair and captivated the spectators. Shri Madhup Kumar Tewari, IPS, Additional Director General of Police (L&O), Andaman and Nicobar Islands, took salute on the occasion. All protocols related to prevention and containment of spread of COVID-19 were observed during the events.
