Port Blair, Nov. 15: The Election Commission of India has announced Special Summary Revision of Electoral Roll with reference to 01.01.2021 as the qualifying date which will start from 16.11.2020 and remain up to 15.12.2020. During this period, the citizen can file claims and objections for registering their names in electoral rolls as well as deleting names of ineligible electors from Electoral Rolls.
To facilitate smooth filing of claims and objections, the Office of Chief Electoral Officer has published the draft Electoral Rolls 2021 which is available in CEO’s website ‘andssw1.and.nic.in/newelection’ and also in the Office of ERO. The copies of the draft Electoral Rolls are also placed in the Office of AERO’s for their respective jurisdictions and also with Booth Level Officers (BLOs) for their respective Booths/Polling Stations for the visit of Electors. The elector can visit electoral rolls during office hours.
All citizens especially those who attained the age of 18 years as on 01.01.2021, left out citizens of age above 18 years, citizens seeking modification in their entries, citizens who are permanently shifted and relatives of persons who have died should approach respective BLOs for registration of their names in the Electoral Roll, modification of their entries in Electoral Roll and deleting of the names of persons who have died or permanently shifted. The citizens may also use ECI’s portal ‘Voter Portal’ and ‘Voter Helpline Mobile App’ for filing claims and objections and modification of entries in the Electoral Rolls.
All the persons who have disability should disclose their disability to Booth Level Officers (BLOs) or use our Toll Free No. 1950 to file their entries in the Electoral Roll. This will help to facilitate them disability specific services during the day of Poll.
All recognized political parties have been requested to extend help and co-operation for the success of Special Revision of Electoral Rolls. They should also appoint Booth Level Agents (BLAs) to help Both Level Officer (BLOs) to carry out revision of Electoral Roll programme successfully.
