Port Blair, Jan 15: The Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises Development Institute, Ministry of MSME, Govt. of India, Port Blair in association with Lead Bank, State Bank of India organised a Loan Mela at Auditorium of Tagore Govt. College of Education to create awareness and also to find suitable new/prospective entrepreneurs in these Islands.

Shri Suneel Anchipaka, Deputy Commissioner, South Andaman inaugurating the Loan Mela said that the Mela would bridge the gap between the new entrepreneurs and the bankers. He further stressed that the process of sanction of Loan should be hassle free to realise the Atmanirbahr Bharat, information regarding documentation should be shared with entrepreneurs and handholding support to be provided. He also urged the local entrepreneurs to be Vocal for Our Local products and make them global. He further requested all the bankers to achieve targets under the schemes PMEGP, Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojna and Stand up India. All together 125 entrepreneurs attended the program. 52 entrepreneurs submitted loan applications (16 under PMEGP, 13 Stand up India, 15 PMMY and 8 Loan applications under regular bank Scheme) and 18 number in principle sanctions letter worth Rs.236.80 lacs. were issued.

The meeting was also attended by Shri Satya Priyadarshi, Regional Manager, Shri Ajit Anand, Director Industries, Shri Surendra Prahladka, President, ACCI and Shri R V Rama Krishna, DGM, NABARD.  For handholding of Entrepreneurs State Bank of India, Canara Bank, UCO Bank, Central Bank of India, Bank of India, IDBI Bank, Union Bank of India and Bandhan Bank were present during the Mela. The program was co-ordinated and facilitated by Shri Chandramouli Jangam, Assistant Director, MSME.
