Port Blair, Jan 24: As part of the “Prashasan Aapke Dwaar” initiative under the aegis of the District Administration, South Andaman, revenue camp court was held by Shri Suneel Anchipaka, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, South Andaman in the Panchayat Bhawan, Mannarghat. Shri Hari Kallikkat, IAS, AC(SA) and other officers of the District Administration and line departments attended the camp court.
The general public and their representatives raised various major issues that include (1) sub-division of land, wherein there is lack of consensus among the cotenants (2) formal transfer of rights in respect of land acquired through agreement (3) earth cutting and development of land for bonafide uses (4) development of playground and parking spaces, etc.
The Special Officer, Gram Panchayat had requested for set-apart of the land a day before the camp court for parking space in front of Community Hall, Mannarghat and after due process the Deputy Commissioner, South Andaman approved the proposal and the set part order was issued in the Camp Court. The general public and the PRI expressed their gratitude for the prompt action in this respect.
The applicants who had applied for various e-Tehsil services like, Income Certificate, Local Certificate and Senior Citizen Certificate etc., were handed over the same during the programme. Besides this, specific instructions were also issued to the concerned revenue field functionaries in response to various petitions filed by the residents of the village.
The Deputy Commissioner, South Andaman assured general public that the revenue Administration is committed towards timely redressal of grievance and the pro-active measures taken by the staff. He thanked the general public for adhering to social distancing norms and making the programme a success.
