Port Blair, Feb 5: A Seminar-cum-Awareness Program on provisions related to GST Acts & Rules with primary focus on GST practitioners was organised by the UTGST Department of Andaman & Nicobar Administration jointly with Post Graduate Department of Commerce, JNRM, Port Blair in the Seminar Hall of JNRM in the presence of Mr. Rajeev Kumar, Assistant Commissioner, UTGST and Dr. N. Rajavel, HOD, PG Department of Commerce, JNRM.

The students were explained about the provisions of GST Acts & Rules and impact of GST in general with focus on how graduates can register themselves as Goods & Service Tax Practitioners and make it as a way of earning livelihood.

The program was attended by Faculties of Commerce department, CMA and ICSI students. Mr. Barun Raj, Inspector of Central Tax (CGST & Cx.) delivered a lecture on the provisions of GST and how students can get benefitted by registering themselves as GST practitioners. All students and faculties enthusiastically participated in the discussion. While addressing the gathering, Mr. Rajeev Kumar, Assistant Commissioner, UTGST explained the importance of knowledge of GST for Commerce students.

Earlier, Dr. N. Rajavel, HOD, Commerce welcomed the gathering by explaining the role of GST Department in the Economic Development of our Nation. The vote of thanks was proposed by Mr. Sumit, a faculty of Commerce Department and the whole program was coordinated by Mrs. Nilima Rani.
