Port Blair, April 29: In view of the unprecedented rice of Covid cases, it has been decided to set up a Rescue Cell on 24 x 7 basis operational from the Central Control Room of the Dy. Commissioner, South Andaman for providing a platform to redress the grievances pertaining to different departments of the A&N Administration. The composition of the cell shall be as under.
The following Nodal Officer of the main departments shall deploy one officer each to Rescue Cell in three shifts from 8 AM to 2 PM, 2 PM to 8 PM and from 8 PM to 8 AM well versed in the working of the concerned department. To register the grievances in the register, forward the same to the concerned officer of their department for redressal and list the action taken/ compliance in the register in respect of all the complaints received over telephone at 240127 and 238881 or toll free no. 1077 and on WhatsApp at 953188844. The list of the officials deputed shall be intimated to the office of the Secretary (perl).

The officials deputed from 8 AM to 2 PM, 2 PM to 8 PM and 8 PM to 8 AM shall forward the grievances to the Nodal Officer of their department for redressal and list the action taken/ compliance in the register in respect of all the complaints received over telephone at 240127 and 238881 or toll free no. 1022 or on WhatsApp at 953188844.
The Nodal Officers listed shall submit a report over telephone to Shri Jose P. John, AE, APWD at 5 PM every day about the number of complaints received in respect of their department and resolved successfully in the day without failure over telephone / whatsapp without failure. Non-compliance shall be treated sternly as misconduct amounting to negligence and dereliction of duty detrimental to public interest in the time of Covid Pandemic.
