Port Blair, May 5: The Member of Parliament, Shri Kuldeep Rai Sharma in a letter addressed to Chief Secretary, A&N Administration has requested to provide transportation facilities to the office going staff of essential service departments. Due to lock down, transportation facilities are not available after 1 PM and many people don’t have their own mode of transportation especially ladies to go home after attending their duties upto 5 PM. 

The MP said that due to rapid increase in corona cases, the Administration has imposed various rules and minimizing the strength of government servants at different departments for protection of the citizens of the Islands which is highly appreciable. However, at the same, transportation facilities for office going staff also need to arrange for their convenience.
