Port Blair, May 27: The Andaman Association of Tour Operators has appealed the Lt. Governor and the Chief Secretary, A&N Administration to provide relief to the tourist service providers who have been impacted by the recent Cyclone Yaas. Shri M Vinod, President of the Association in a letter mentioned that Cyclone Yaas had hit the islands and caused damages to the boats anchored in the harbor of Junglighat and blew the boat ticket counters in the Water Sports Complex, Dive Shops and other shops at North Bay. The financial implications of the damages are substantial.
AATO has thus requested for relief in the form of direct cash transfer to such tourism stakeholders who have been impacted by the Cyclone. The relief has been requested considering the plight of the stakeholders who have become unemployed due to the pandemic.
