Port Blair, June 14: On the occasion of World Blood Donor Day 2021, the NGO- WITH YOU organized a blood donation camp at Community Health Center, Bambooflat in co-ordination with District Administration and Directorate of Health Services.

On the occasion, Ms V .K Mariyam Bibi, President ‘WITH YOU’ briefed the assembled donors on the importance of blood donation and thanked them for their participation. Dr Halder, Chief Medical Officer, CHC Bambooflat motivated the youth and thanked the NGO for organizing the camp. Dr Shaina Mustakeem, Medical officer, Blood Bank , GB Pant Hospital informed the current stress on the blood bank because of high demand and low availability of blood due to the lockdown and how this type of camps is welcome respite to the bank.

The event witnessed the participation of more than 50 donors. Proper coordination of Police officials and administration had allowed hassle free movement for the donors.
