Port Blair, Nov. 28: Shri Suneel Anchipaka, Deputy Commissioner (SA) along with SDM (SA) inspected various developmental activities being carried out at Sippighat, Meethakhari, Namunaghar, Shaitankhadi to Wimberlygunj. Officials from Revenue, RD and other line departments also accompanied.

During the inspection the DC(SA) had a brief meeting with ex- Pradhans, local Representatives and residents and gave a patient hearing to their grievances related to Road Condition, Drinking water, electricity, playground development at Ograbraj Middle School, Street lights and various other issues.

Directions were given to the officials of the line departments by DC (SA) for the redressal of the grievances at the earliest in a time bound manner.  The DC (SA) along with the team also inspected the Health & Wellness centre at Wimberlygunj. During the visit the medical staff present there reported about the lack of sufficient sanitary staff and medical equipment. DC (SA) assured to take up matter with concerned authorities for resolving the said issues.

The local residents lauded the efforts of DC (SA) for the works undertaken under the RURBAN mission such as market place, guest house at shore point, Shade at Bus stands, community hall and Road under PMGSY-I.

The DC (SA) reiterated that the District Administration is committed to the development of infrastructure and its maintenance in South Andaman and also sought the cooperation of the local populace in its efforts. The DC (SA) asked the Revenue & RD field staffs to follow up on all the matters raised by the public. He further asked the public to feel free to reach out to his office for their genuine grievances.
