Port Blair, Jan 18: The Andaman & Nicobar Territorial Congress Committee President, Mr. Rangalal Halder on Monday visited the Community Health Centre, Rangat and interacted with the patients, doctors, nurses, cleaners and other staffs to understand the problems faced by them and to examine COVID related issues.

Halder informed that there is a shortage of healthcare staffs and medical equipment in CHC Rangat which needs to be addressed on priority. He also emphasized on the need for establishing a full-fledged hospital in Rangat, which can cater the healthcare needs of entire population of North & Middle Andaman District.

"The staffs of CHC Rangat made me aware of the lack of ambulance facility. I also spoke to the Chief Medical Officer and have told him to improve the infrastructure, equipment and staff strength in CHC Rangat", Halder said.

He appreciated the services of doctors and other staffs of CHC Rangat who are relentlessly working for providing treatment at the time of increasing COVID-19 cases in the Islands.

Halder was accompanied by Congress leaders Mr. Dipankar Samadder, Mr. Abdul Aziz, Mr. Prabin Sarkar and Mr. Ashok Howlader.
