Port Blair, Jan 19: There has been surge in positive cases of COVID -19 in South Andaman District in the recent times.

In order to ensure compliance to the containment measures of isolation and social distancing in the South Andaman District to control any surge of the cases of COVID-19-Variant of Concern (VoC), “OMICRON” Shri Suneel Anchipaka, IAS, District Magistrate, South Andaman Districthas issued home quarantine order for passengers arriving at Little Andaman from Port Blair.

Accordingly all passengers reaching Little Andaman from Port Blair shall remain under home quarantine/isolation for a period of 07 days.

All such persons under home quarantine or isolation have been directed not to leave the designated premises under any circumstances, till final clearance from the competent authority.

Any disobedience of the above orders shall invite penal action u/s 188 of Indian Penal Code, 1860 and the relevant provisions of the Disaster Management Act, 2005 against the violator(s) and fine shall also be imposed as per Order issued by this office from time to time.

This order shall come into force with immediate effect i.e. 19th Jan 2022 till further orders.
