Port Blair, May 20: A delegation of Daily Newspapers Association (DNA) on Friday met Shri. Neeraj Thakur, Director General of Police and discussed various issues pertaining to Police in general and media in particular. During the interaction with DGP, the media persons requested the DG Police for designating a Police PRO for clarifying doubts and queries raised by the local Journalists on a time to time basis on Police related issues.

Other issues such as dilapidated vacant government quarters in different localities in the city used by anti-social elements creating public nuisance, private as well as STS buses not stopping in designated marking on roads, motorists parking their vehicles on narrow lanes thus making movement of fire vehicles difficult, SHO level Police Officers conducting Police-Public meeting with the senior citizens once every month, strengthening the Third Eye by installing CCTV in traffic junctions and strengthening the Pink Police were some of the vital issues discussed. The DGP assured the media persons that all the issues raised by them will be looked into. The President, DNA, Shri. K. Ganeshan led the delegation consisting of Shri.
