Port Blair, June 24: The District Consultative Committee and District Level Review Meeting of South Andaman District for the March 2022 was held today under the Chairmanship of Shri Suneel Anchipaka, Deputy Commissioner, South Andaman at Conference Hall, District Office to review the performance of Banks under Annual Credit Plan, Government Sponsored Schemes and Flagship Schemes launched by the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India.

The Deputy Commissioner (SA) advised the banks to give more focus on Jan Suraksha like Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojna (PMSBY), Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojna (PMJJBY), Atal Pension Yojna (APY), Stand up India and PMEGP. He also instructed to achieve the targets allotted to the banks in time. He reiterated that the CD Ratio of the District is 54.54%, which needs improvement.

The Lead Bank Manager, Shri PK Ummer Farooq, welcomed the Chairman and informed that Banks had organized 70 Digital Awareness Camp and 193 Financial Literacy Camps during the year in South Andaman District. RSeti had conducted 16 training Camps. Under Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojna banks enrolled 16483 and in PMJJBY 8094 beneficiaries during 2021-22 in South Andaman Districts. 2761 beneficiaries enrolled under APY.

Under Annual Credit Plan for 2021-22, South Andaman District achieved the targets by 104.12%.

The meeting was attended by Mr S Bhuvaharan, Deputy General Manager, NABARD, Mr. Debajyoti Datta, AGM, RBI, Shri P K Ummer Farooq, Lead Bank Manager, SBI and Senior officials of banks and Govt. Department.
