Port Blair, Aug 14: As part of celebration of 75th years of India's Independence Day, WITH YOU (NGO) in association with Bambooflat Auto Union organised a Tiranga Rally starting from Bambooflat jetty to Chunnabatta via Wimberlygunj. Shri Ashok Kumar Paul, DFO Wimberlygunj was the chief guest and flagged off the rally from Bambooflat Jetty.
Speaking on the occasion the chief guest applauded the team for organizing such a befitting rally. He also emphasized on the importance of the National flag and appealed the people to give it their earnest respect.
Earlier Ms V. K. Mariyam Bibi, President With You’ welcomed the Chief guest and other dignitaries in the program and said that the agenda of the rally is to invoke a feeling of patriotism in the hearts of the people.
Committee members of the Auto Union also expressed their views on this occasion. A large number of public and nearly 130 Autos participated in the rally. Pradhan's of various Gram panchayat such as Hopetown, Shorepoint, Bambooflat -2; Samity members of Hopetown & Mannarghat and Zilla Parishad Member Tushnabad also took active part in the rally. Mr. Rafique, SHO, Bambooflat closed the rally infront of NGO office at Bambooflat. Mr.Y Raj Kumar , General Secretary Auto Union proposed vote of thanks.
