Training Prog. on Branding & Marketing for Stakeholders Engaged in Marine & Coconut Based Products Held

Port Blair, Aug. 18: ‘District as an Export Hub’ initiative of Govt. of India envisages to convert each District of the country into an export hub by identifying products with export potential in the District. The Andaman and Nicobar Administration has identified Marine Products, Coconut Products and Tourism as the products/services with potential of export from A & N Islands.

To take forward the initiative, the Directorate of Industries in association with Director General of Foreign Trade (DGFT), Kolkata, and Invest India, Ministry of Commerce & Industry organized a Training Programme on Branding and Marketing for the stakeholders engaged in marine and coconut based products yesterday.

At the outset, Shri. Abhishek Bhukal, Director of Industries, A & N Administration welcomed the officials from Directorate General of Foreign Trade, Kolkata and the participants and informed them about the efforts made by the Administration under ‘District as an Export Hub’ initiative.

Thereafter, presenters from Invest India, Ministry of Commerce & Industry from Delhi made detailed presentations on Export Opportunities as well as Branding and Marketing fundamentals. The Training was attended by 37 entrepreneurs and officials through VC mode.

The Deputy Director General of Foreign Trade, Kolkata presented the vote of thanks and informed that similar Training programmes will be conducted in future for the entrepreneurs/exporters of Andaman & Nicobar Islands which will improve their export potential.
