Port Blair, May 28: The Member of Parliament, Shri Kuldeep Rai Sharma organized a special event this morning titled 'Yagna and Sarva Dharma Prayer' at 7 AM in Tiranga Park. The objective of this event was to unite the community in prayer, seeking divine intervention for much-needed rainfall in the Andaman & Nicobar Islands. A large number of senior citizens and islanders attended the program, contributing to its success.

During the event, the Member of Parliament addressed the gathering and emphasized the pressing issue at hand. He highlighted the fact that the monsoon season, which typically arrives by this time has not yet reached the Andaman & Nicobar Islands. This delay has resulted in a severe water crisis, causing great hardship for the Islanders.

He stated that he has raised this matter in various parliamentary discussions and meetings with the local administration, emphasizing the urgent need to find solutions such as creating new water reservoirs.

The purpose of organizing the event was to offer prayers across all religious beliefs, in the hope of invoking rainfall. The inclusiveness of this gathering aimed to foster unity among people of different faiths, as everyone on the island shares the common desire for rain.
