Port Blair, July 29: The South Andaman District Police is pleased to announce the successful recovery of a 16 years old girl who had been reported missing/kidnapped from a Computer Center at Middle Point, Port Blair on 24/06/2024. Through swift and diligent efforts, the dedicated team of Police Station Aberdeen which worked tirelessly to ensure the safe return of the minor from Kolkata.
On 05/07/2024, the parents of a 16 years old girl made a complaint at Police Station Aberdeen regarding missing of their daughter since 24/06/2024. Wherein it was mentioned that the girl left for computer class on that day but did not return back to home. Upon this, an FIR No. 118/2024, dated 05/07/2024 U/s 363 IPC was registered at the Police Station against unknown accused person and investigation entrusted to SI Nixon Isaac. Following an intensive investigation with utmost sensitivity and professionalism, the location of the missing/kidnapped girl was traced to Kolkata. Immediately, a team led by Sub Inspector Nixon Isaac (Investigating Officer), Sub Inspector Arthi Roy and Head Constable Shiv Nath of Police Station Aberdeen was deputed to Kolkata to ensure the safety of minor girl and to apprehend the accused.
After comprehensive investigative work and collaborative efforts with local authorities, the victim girl was finally located at Sarsuna village, South 24 Parganas, West Bengal. Furthermore, the accused namely Omar SK S/o Del Bahar R/o Sarsuna, South 24 Parganas, West Bengal was swiftly apprehended by the team. The accused was arrested and brought to Port Blair on 27/07/2024 and produced before the Hon’ble Court from where he was remanded Judicial Custody.
The successful rescue operation of the minor victim girl was supervised by Insp. Vishal Ram, SHO PS Aberdeen under the command of Sh. Vikas Swami, SDPO South Andaman and over all supervision of Smt. Niharika Bhatt, IPS, Superintendent of Police South Andaman District.
This successful recovery of the missing/kidnapped girl highlights the exemplary teamwork and dedication of our officers. The South Andaman Police are committed to ensuring the safety and security of every individual in our community, particularly our children.
