Port Blair, July 31 In a significant step towards enhancing public service delivery, on 31/07/2024, Shri Devesh Chandra Srivastva, IPS, Director General of Police, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, officially launched the online issuance of Fire Incident Certificates by the A&N Fire and Emergency Services. The inauguration took place at the Police Headquarters in the presence of senior officials, marking a new era of digital empowerment and convenience for the residents of the Andaman & Nicobar Islands.

This pioneering initiative is designed to bring about a transformative change in how fire incident-related services are accessed by the public. By enabling the online application and issuance of Fire Incident Certificates, the A&N Fire and Emergency Services have made it possible for residents, including those in the most remote and isolated parts of the islands, to access critical services without the need to travel to physical offices.

This shift to a digital platform represents a significant leap forward in improving the efficiency, transparency, and accessibility of public services. The new system ensures that citizens can easily obtain their certificates, thereby saving time and resources, and reducing the dependency on manual processes.

The successful implementation of this online service has been made possible through the collaborative efforts of the A&N Fire and Emergency Services and the National Informatics Centre (NIC), Port Blair. The NIC played a pivotal role in developing and deploying the digital infrastructure necessary for the seamless functioning of this service. This collaboration underscores the Government’s commitment to leveraging technology to improve governance and public service delivery, in line with the vision of Digital India.
