Port Blair, Aug 1: Roshan Senthil Kumar is the first chess player from the Andaman & Nicobar Islands to obtain the title of Arena International Master (AIM) by the World Chess Federation (FIDE).
AIM Roshan Senthil Kumar, a young and budding chess player from Port Blair has showcased the talent of the Andaman & Nicobar Islands with his impressive performance in the FIDE Online Arena (FOA), the official online playing platform of the International Chess Federation.
The Arena International Master (AIM) title is awarded to players who demonstrate a high level of competence and consistency by a series of 150 bullet games, 100 blitz games or 50 rapid games with a performance rating of over 1700 in the FIDE Online Arena. AIM Roshan earned this title by successfully completing a series of 150 bullet games online, maintaining a performance rating of over 1700. He was also the first Arena Candidate Master (ACM) from these islands. The title will be valid for life time, however acquirement of a higher title replaces any title reference of a lower status.
