New Delhi, Aug 2: Deeply concerned over the difficulties being faced by the local people in revenue department related matters, the MP has stepped up his efforts at the Central Government level to bring in relief to Islanders. As a part of his efforts, Shri Bishnu Pada Ray, Hon’ble Member of Parliament, A & N Islands, through a parliament question, has sought response from the Home Minister regarding the order for stoppage of statutory function of SDO’s in Revenue Department of A & N Islands.
Shri Ray, seeking reply from Minister of Home affairs, has asked to produce the statutory Order or Executive Order or Public Notice issued by any authority for stoppage of statutory functions of SDO’s prescribed under Section 40 of ANI LR&LRR.
In case no such official order has been issued, Shri Ray has sought the details of the applications received since 2020 by SDO’s and the number of cases disposed during last 4 years. He has also asked about the action that has been proposed to be taken against SDO’s and their supervisory Officers for keeping the cases pending beyond reasonable time.
It is expected that the Home Minister will reply to question on 6th of August 2024.
