Bambooflat. Aug 6: On 05/08/24, in a significant move to promote environmental sustainability and community engagement, Shri Devesh Chandra Srivastva, IPS, Director General of Police, Andaman & Nicobar Islands along with Smti Sindhu Pillai A, IPS, Inspector General of Police and other senior officers, visited Bambooflat.
During their visit, the dignitaries planted saplings of various fruit-bearing trees at the site of the new Police Station in Bambooflat. This initiative is part of the "Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam" campaign, which aims to encourage tree planting and environmental conservation in honor of mothers.
The campaign "'Ek Ped Maa ke Naam ' was launched by Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi on World Environment Day-2024, under this campaign, people are urged to plant a tree in honor of their mothers. The aim of this campaign is to make the world greener and healthier. The initiative of Andaman & Nicobar Police today led by the Shri Devesh Chandra Srivastva, IPS, DGP (A&NI) was in furtherance of the vision of Hon’ble Prime Minister.
In addition to the tree planting activity, Shri Devesh Chandra Srivastva, IPS, DGP (A&NI) and other officers visited PS Bambooflat & FS Bambooflat. A befitting Guard of Honour was presented to the DGP at PS Bambooflat. Further, demonstrating a commitment to improving the working conditions and overall welfare of the police force, the officers engaged with the staff at both places and listened to their grievances and addressed their concerns. The interaction aimed to boost the morale of the staff and reinforce a sense of solidarity and support within the department.
The visit concluded on a positive note, with the senior officers emphasizing the importance of community service and environmental responsibility. The event highlighted the ongoing efforts to foster a greener environment and a more responsive and motivated police force in the Andaman & Nicobar Islands.
