Port Blair, Sept. 2: Demonstrating an unwavering commitment to combating drug-related activities, the Anti-Narcotics Police Station executed two targeted operations on August 30, 2024, resulting in significant seizures and arrests.

In the first operation, acting on specific intelligence, a team led by Insp. Pritam Behari (SHO, Anti-Narcotics) and including ASI Sanjay Yadav, PC Nanak Singh, PC Ratan Das, PC M. Raja Rao, and PC Vishal Kumar, recovered 850 Grams of Ganja from the RMS Parcel Hub, Postal Department, Port Blair. The Ganja was seized after observing all codal formalities.

In the second operation, another team from the Anti-Narcotics Police Station, also led by Insp. Pritam Behari and comprising SI Mohd Rahil Islam, PC Ratan Das, PC S. Nanak Singh, PC M. Raja Rao, PC Vishal Kumar, LPC Anjana Haldar, and LPC Nandita Mistry, conducted a raid at a private courier service company at Gurudwara Lane, Port Blair. During the raid, they recovered 495 Grams of Ganja hidden inside a geyser. The Ganja was seized after following all codal formalities. During further investigation, the suspects involved in this case were identified and arrested.

Both raids were conducted under the supervision of Shri. Vishesh Dhatterwal, DANIPS, Dy.SP, Narcotics, and the overall supervision of Shri Mohd. Irshad Haider, IPS, SP (CID), A&N Islands. Cases under the relevant sections of the NDPS Act, 1985 have been registered at the Anti-Narcotics Police Station and further investigations are currently under progress.
