Mayabunder, Sept. 9: In a commendable effort to empower and guide students toward careers in Civil Services and Armed Forces, the North & Middle Andaman District Police launched the "DISHA" initiative. This program aims to provide comprehensive career guidance to students across the district, particularly focusing on opportunities in the Civil Services and Armed Forces.

As part of this initiative, the first session on career guidance was held on 09/09/2024 at the SP Office Conference Hall, N&MA. The event saw enthusiastic participation of 33 students representing 06 schools from Kadamtala and Rangat viz. GSSS, Kadamtala, GSSS Rangat, GSSS Bakultala, PM SHRI GSSS Sabari Junction, PM SHRI GSSS Swadesh Nagar and GSSS CFO Nallah.

During the session, Ms. Geetanjali Khandelwal, IPS, SP (D) N&MA shared her insights on how to build a successful career in the Civil Services. She explained the step-by-step preparation process for aspiring IAS/IPS officers, offering valuable tips on exam preparation and motivation.

Additionally, Sh. Rinson Robinson, Deputy Commandant, Indian Coast Guard (ICG), Mayabunder & Sh. Dalbir Singh, ICG, Mayabunder took the students through the requirements and steps involved in joining the Armed Forces as an officer. They elaborated on the various levels of the examination and shared practical advice on how to successfully crack the exams.

The session concluded with a vote of thanks from Inspector K. Joju, SP (D) N&MA Office who expressed his gratitude to the speakers and the participating students, bringing the insightful event to a close.

The "DISHA" initiative by the N&MA District Police is expected to provide valuable guidance and open new pathways for the youth of the district, equipping them with the knowledge and resources needed to pursue a successful career in civil and defence services.
