Diglipur, Sept. 10: A meeting of farmers of Paschimsagar was held at Paschimsagar, North Andaman on 6th September, 2024 under the banner of All India Kisan Sabha in which various land related issues of the farmers were discussed. 

SR Mridha, Secretary, Andaman & Nicobar State Committee of All India Kisan Sabha and Sunil Bepari, President, CITU Diglipur Zonal Committee addressed the farmers. They called upon the farmers to remain united to fight for resolving the long-pending demand of allotment of land to all the landless villagers who are in occupation of Forest/Revenue land for the last 50 years. Dilip Kamakar also addressed the meeting. 

The meeting decided to form an 18-member Unit Committee of the AIKS at Paschimsagar with Bhupathi Ray as President and Suresh Chakidar as Secretary. 

The meeting decided to submit memorandum to the authorities in the A & N Administration on the land related issues and to organise peaceful agitation in North Andaman by organizing farmers of other villagers of Diglipur Tehsil.  

A large number of farmers of Paschimsagar and nearby places attended the meeting.
