Sri Vijaya Puram, Oct. 3: In line with its unwavering commitment to combat drug-related activities, the Anti-Narcotics Police Station with the assistance of Dog Squad, CID executed a targeted Anti-Narcotics operation on September 29, 2024.
Acting on specific intelligence, a police team from the Anti-Narcotics Police Station, led by Inspector Pritam Behari (SHO), Anti-Narcotics PS, along with ASI Sanjay Yadow, PC Vishal Kumar, PC Nanak Singh, PC Ratan Das, PC M. Raja Rao, and LPC Nandita Mistry, conducted a successful operation. They were supported by PC Santosh Kr. Yadav, dog handler, and the Narcotics sniffer dog named ‘KASPER,’ under the supervision of Shri Vishesh Dhatterwal, DANIPS, Dy.SP, Narcotics.
During the operation, the team intercepted one person namely Md. Azeem S/o Shri Md. Nayeem Age 26 Yrs Pvt Worker, R/o 14 Mohan Chand Road, Khiddirpore, West Bengal Kolkata, who had arrived at Port Blair from Kolkata on 29/09/2024 by a flight of Indigo Airlines.
In this raid, a total of 2.055 Kgs of Ganja, which was clandestinely concealed in the bag, was seized from the accused and the said accused person was arrested on the spot after observing all codal formalities.
A case under relevant section of NDPS Act, 1985 has been registered at Anti-Narcotics Police Station and investigation is in progress.
The raid took place under the overall supervision of Shri Irshad Haider, IPS, SP (CID), A&N Islands.
