Sri Vijaya Puram, Oct 24: The Cooperative Department, A&N Administration, in a significant step towards supporting working parents has established ‘Fathers Home Creche’ in the premises of RCS Office Building, VIP Road, Sri Vijaya Puram, South Andaman. The Chief Secretary, A&N Administration, Shri   Keshav Chandra, IAS, today inaugurated the much needed facility for the working parents in presence of Ms Nandini Paliwal, IAS, Commissioner-cum-Secretary (Coop.), Ms Nandini Maharaj, IAS, Special Secretary (Coop.)-cum-RCS, Shri Arjun Sharma, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, South Andaman, Swami Shudhananda Saraswati, Resident Acharya Chinmaya Mission, Smt. Komal Anand, President, ‘Pankh’ and other officials of the A&N Administration.

In her brief address on the occasion, Commissioner-cum-Secretary (Coop.) appreciated the effort of the Cooperative Department in establishing ‘Fathers Home Creche’ for the benefit of the working parents. As per the guidelines of the Ministry of Women & Child Development, every establishment having fifty or more employees have to provide the facility of crèche, she said underlining the need for opening more such facilities in other Departments too.

In her address, the Special Secretary (Coop.)-cum-RCS informed that with the motive to provide a secure, nurturing, and educational environment for the children (aged six months to 12 years) of the employees working with A & N Administration, the Cooperative Department in collaboration with ‘Pankh’ NGO has established the ‘Fathers Home Creche’ which was inaugurated today. This requirement ensures that working parents have access to safe and convenient childcare options, thereby supporting their ability to balance work and family responsibilities, She added.

In his speech, the Resident Acharya Chinmaya Mission, Swami Shudhananda Saraswati appreciated the effort of the Cooperative Department for conceiving this idea to benefit working parents while the President, ‘Pankh’, Smt. Komal Anand thanked the Cooperative Department for associating with the NGO and providing an opportunity to run this Creche. 

The Office of Cooperative Department working with more than 50 employees situated at the heart of the city at a reasonable distance with other Departments/ offices providing easy access to the employees of other Departments of A & N Administration to admit their child in the said Crèche.
