Sri Vijaya Puram, Oct. 28: The IGNOU Regional Centre, Sri Vijaya Puram organized a two days International Conference titled ‘Ethnomedicine: Theory & Practices’ on Oct. 24 & 26 October, 2024 in hybrid mode in the Auditorium of TGCE. The conference was organized in collaboration with TGCE; Anthropological Survey of India, Sri Vijaya Puram; Department of Biochemistry, St. Thomas College, Kerala; St. Albert College, Kerala and TSG Resorts and Hotels as Industrial partner.
Shri L. Kumar, IAS, Secretary (Education), A & N Administration inaugurated the two days International Conference and delivered the inaugural address.
Prof. (Dr.) Sunil Jacob, Regional Director (IGNOU), Sri Vijaya Puram; Dr. Manjulata, Principal (TGCE) and Dr. Sudarshan Raja, ARD, IGNOU RC, Sri Vijaya Puram also addressed the gathering in the inaugural session.
Prof. (Dr.) Roonie Moore, School of Public Health, University College, Dublin, Ireland; Dr. Eric Rosenbush L.Ac, American College of Traditional Chinese Medicine, California Institute of Integral Studies; Dr. Somorjit Singh, Head of Office, Anthropological Survey of India, A & N Regional Centre; Dr. Ratheesh M, Department of Biochemistry, St. Thomas College, Kerala; Anupam Datta, Asst. Anthropologist, A & N Regional Centre; Dr. T. R. Satyakeerthy, ARD, IGNOU Regional Centre were the guest speakers for the conference.
About 250 participants attended the two days conference, and 21 papers were presented by faculties, research scholars and experts from India and abroad.
