East Island, Oct. 28: On 27/10/2024, during his on-going visit to North & Middle Andaman District, Shri Hargobinder Singh Dhaliwal, IPS, Director General of Police, A&N Islands, conducted a strategic visit to the Look Out Post at East Island along with Ms. Geetanjali Khandelwal, IPS, SP(D) N&MA District. This LOP holds a crucial role in the defence of the islands, acting as a frontline shield against foreign poachers and ensuring coastal security across the A&N Islands.
In his visit, Shri H S Dhaliwal assessed the current security arrangements and assessed areas for enhancement to ensure robust protection along the coastline. He also reviewed the logistical support requirements essential for the police personnel stationed there, emphasizing the importance of providing adequate resources to maintain operational effectiveness.
As a gesture of solidarity, Shri H S Dhaliwal interacted with the guard personnel deployed at East Island, expressing his commitment to providing support whenever needed and commending their dedication. He acknowledged the challenges they face, being away from their families, and lauded their unwavering commitment to safeguarding the islands’ borders.
Adding a personal touch to the visit, Shri H S Dhaliwal shared a meal with the personnel, relishing the warmth of camaraderie over lunch. He further boosted morale by distributing sweets, symbolizing gratitude and appreciation for their hard work and vigilance.
This visit reinforces the commitment of the A&N Police Department to strengthen coastal security and ensure the welfare of its personnel serving in remote and strategic locations.
