The event attracted an enthusiastic crowd, including school students, local chess players from Swaraj Dweep and curious tourists who were captivated by the sight of chess being played on the beach. FIDE Instructor B. Neelaiah led the event, simultaneously competing against multiple young participants, making it an unforgettable experience for players and spectators alike. Shri Firoz Alam, DANIPS, SDPO of Swaraj Dweep, was the chief guest and inaugurated the event with a ceremonial first move. He encouraged the young players to pursue their talents and, above all, urged them to enjoy the game.

This initiative aimed not only to bring the game closer to the community of Swaraj Dweep but also to offer the island’s youth a chance to experience competitive chess in an awe-inspiring environment. The event was widely appreciated, with both locals and visitors commending the effort to merge sports and nature in such a memorable way.
