Sri Vijaya Puram, Nov. 7: The Andaman Nicobar Territorial Congress Committee President, Shri. Rangalal Halder has formally requested the Chief Secretary, A & N Administration for conducting blood grouping camps across all Panchayats in North & Middle Andaman, Little Andaman, Campbell Bay and the Nicobar Islands.

In a letter addressed, Halder emphasized the need for a collaborative effort to create a comprehensive database of residents' blood groups, aimed at strengthening healthcare preparedness and emergency response capabilities across the Islands.

He highlighted that timely access to compatible blood is crucial in medical emergencies, particularly in these remote regions where access to healthcare facilities is limited.

Shri. Halder also noted that many residents, especially those from areas with limited medical resources, face life-threatening delays due to the lack of readily available blood group information.

"This initiative could streamline medical response times, enable quicker assistance in crisis situations, and contribute to the overall health and well-being of the people," stated Shri. Halder.

Shri. Halder further urged the Administration to issue an official directive to bring this life-saving initiative into action, marking a significant step towards a stronger public health framework in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
