Car Nicobar, Nov. 8: The Education Department, Car Nicobar, has organized a vibrant Zonal Level Science, Maths, Arts, and Craft Exhibition at Priyadarshini Auditorium, Tamaloo, Car Nicobar today. The exhibition was inaugurated by the chief guest, Ms. Jyoti Kumari, IAS, Deputy Commissioner of Nicobar District while Shri Lionald Nicomede, Chairman of the Tribal Council was the guest of honor. In a ceremonial start, the chief guest lit the traditional lamp, signalling the beginning of a showcase of creativity and innovation by the young minds of the District.
Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner, Nicobar District appreciated the students’ passion for Science, which was evident in their impressive work. Science encompasses fields like Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics, which can often seem challenging when we consider their impact on our lives and expectations, she said adding that Science is also fascinating, and it draws our interest deeply. In the projects presented by the children, they highlighted the importance of climate change, waste management, new technology, and environmental issues specific to the Nicobar Islands, she said.
Earlier, Shri H. Nathaniel, Education Officer, along with Heads of Institutions, teachers, and students, welcomed the dignitaries, setting a tone of encouragement and excitement for the day.
All the three CRCs viz. GSSS Lapathy, GSSS Malacca, and GSSS Sawai exhibited impressive models and displays across Science, Mathematics, Arts, and Craft categories. Adding to the event's appeal, food stalls were set up by GPS Jayanthi, GPS Kimious and GPS Teetop, offering a delightful variety of dishes. Additionally, a stunning flower arrangement prepared by the teachers of GPS Kinyuka and GMPS Headquarter captured the admiration of guests.
The exhibits were evaluated by a panel of jury members viz. Shri B Hari, AE (E & M.), APWD, Shri Anbhazagan, AE(CD), APWD, & Shri Rathish Kumar R R, JE (E& M), APWD Car Nicobar assessed the Science, Maths, and Arts models, while representatives from the Industries Department, Shri Tanmay Ganguly, Assistant Director and Smti Suhika Shanti, Supervisor evaluated the craft items. The exhibition witnessed a large turnout, including Heads of Departments, members of the public, and parents from various villages, all of whom expressed appreciation for the students' creativity and hard work.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Smti Everlyn, Vice Principal of GSSS Malacca, who encouraged the selected students and their guide teachers to prepare diligently for the upcoming Rajya Stariya Bal Vaigyanik Pradarshani (RSBVP) to be held at Sri Vijaya Puram.
