Sri Vijaya Puram, Dec 1: Continuing its age old tradition of felicitating members of the community for their excellent contribution made to the welfare of Andaman & Nicobar Islands during their tenure, the Kannada Sangha of Sri Vijaya Puram felicitated Shri Revanna Siddappa D.R on Saturday, 30th November 2024 at their sangha premises.
Speaking on the occasion, Shri Naveen Chandra, President of the Kannada Sangha recollected all major contributions made by Shri Revanna Siddappa during his tenure of 34 years to the Andaman & Nicobar Islands. Shri Madadev, Cultural Secretary of the Sangha compeered the event The august gathering comprised of members and well-wishers.
Shri R. Siddappa, speaking on this occasion, provided a brief insight of his journey from a small village in Davangere, Karnataka to Andaman & Nicobar Islands. He was delighted to have served at various positions in the local administration of the Islands and also have received a rare opportunity of serving top notch bureaucrats of the country. He expressed his love for the Islands and for Kannada.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks and a dinner hosted by the Sangha in honour of the superannuating official of the Sangha Shri Revanna Siddappa D.R. The Executive member of the Sangha Shri Nelson Almeida said that such small gestures, motivates the members of the sangha, who are far away from home and rendering service in A&N islands.
