Diglipur, Dec. 4: On the occasion of International Day of Persons with Disabilities, an Exposer tour was organized by the Diglipur Block Unit of ‘Samagra Shiksha’ yesterday. The purpose of the visit was to provide an opportunity to Divyang children to visit important establishments and natural surroundings by taking them out of their school.
On 3rd December 2024, about 40 children from various schools left from Diglipur market with their special teachers and reached the Indian Coast Guard unit situated at Aerial Bay. The children were taken to the Coast Guard ship ICGS Raj-Tarang. Welcoming the Divyang children on the ship, DIG Ankur, Commandant Vivek Kumar, Commandant Ritesh Bhardwaj, and Assistant Commandant Karmveer Chauhan explained the working mechanism of the ship, which excited the children.
After visiting the Coast Guard Establishment, the group of differently abled children reached the Indian Air Force Station INS Kohassa at Shibpur, where the Air Force officers welcomed them. Exciting videos related to the activities of the Air Force was screened for the children. The officers, Commodore Vaibhav Sundriyal, Lieutenant Commodore Anushree Sharma, Pushpendra Singh Tanwar and Sergeant Lieutenant Desvin DV presented mementos and gifts to the children.
After wrapping up their thrilling experience at the Air Force Station, the children reached the Lamiya Bay beach in the lap of nature. They felt very relaxed open lap and enjoyed it a lot.
Program coordinator S. Vijaya informed that the purpose of such tours under the inclusive education of ‘Samagra Shiksha’ is to make these differently disabled children feel equality and to instil self-confidence in them. Through these tours, these children get an opportunity to go out of their homes and schools, get to feel the warmth of team spirit, along with this, they get information about the working system of the establishments running in the society and they get inspired apart from enjoying the beauty of Nature.
Assistant Coordinator Riya Nandan while appreciating the parents of these children for their cooperation said that with the positive support of the parents, the Block Project officials also get the strength to organize such programs successfully. These events bring good results, which makes the efforts of inclusive education of the Divyangjan children meaningful.
