Sri Vijaya Puram, Jan. 5: World Braille Day was observed, at the Block Level Resource Room in GSSS Diglipur under Inclusive Education, Samagra Shiksha on Jan. 4, 2025. The event was attended by Children with Special Needs (CwSN) and their parents. The program which was aimed at inspiring children and their families by highlighting the life and achievements of Louis Braille was conducted under the coordination of Smti S. Vijaya, BRP (CwSN).

The event was inaugurated by, Smti Salochna, Block Project Officer, Diglipur, as the chief guest while, Shri Manoranjan, Branch Manager, SBI Diglipur was the guest of honour. Smti Dr. C. Pushpavalli, Principal of GSSS Diglipur was the special guest and Shri Ashitosh Dey, PGT, GSSS Diglipur was the special invitees.

In her address, the chief guest encouraged the children and their parents to recognize their potential and work toward their goals, stressing that every child has unique capabilities.

The event began with a welcome address by Smti N. Riya Nandan, PSRT, who created an engaging and positive atmosphere.

Shri Manoranjan, Branch Manager of SBI Diglipur, shared the story of a staff member with disabilities who transformed his life by setting new goals. As part of the program, ID kits were distributed to the children.

The event also featured insightful sessions for parents and teachers. Shri Pankaj Sarkar, Special Educator, delivered an enlightening talk on Louis Braille’s biography, linking it to education. Smti Rakhi Kabiraj, BRP (CwSN), introduced Braille to the attendees while Shri Jai Singh, Special Educator (SS), conducted a practical demonstration of orientation and mobility techniques.

The program concluded with a joyful dance activity for the children, bringing energy and happiness to the parents. The event ended on an inspiring note, motivating everyone to promote inclusivity and progress in education.
