Diglipur, Jan 6: The NIPUN Mela organised at Govt. SS Laxmipur yesterday was an event of great interest to the community members who came to see the creative works of the small children of the primary sections of the school. The students under the guidance of their teachers and Parents have developed some good TLM articles, using waste materials to be used as teaching-learning materials under Foundational Literacy and Basic Numeracy objectives.
The Annual NIPUN Mela was inaugurated by the Laxmipur Gram Panchayat Pradhan Shri Sujan Das in the Morning. The Panchayat Samity Member Shri Ashim Das, Up-Pradhan Smti Sangeeta Das, Vice Chairman of the School Management Committee Shri Gokul Mondal, and the Ex-Head Mistress Smti Indrani Bhakta were the distinguished guests who took a round of the Exhibits displayed by the Students. Students responded to the queries raised by the visitors to assess their attained abilities in FLN over the past period and, expressed satisfaction.
Earlier, while welcoming the gathering the Vice Principal of the School Shri Balbir Singh threw light on the aims and objectives of the NIPUN Bharat Mission. He said that aiming to strengthen Foundational Literacy and Basic Numeracy abilities among Primary School students, the National Initiative for Proficiency in Reading with Understanding and Basic Numeracy-NIPUN Bharat was launched and the present goal is to achieve the target up to grade 2 by 2025. The community involving the parents, plays a very important role in this mission as their inputs help the school to take corrective measures.
In his address, the Laxmipur Gram Panchayat Pradhan Shri Sujan das called upon the Parents to extend support to the School Management in implementing the Mission's provisions. Requesting the Parents to create a conducive environment at home for the children to study, he said the Parents should always be in touch with the teachers to know the updated progress in their child’s academic journey and follow the advice given by the School in the interest of the child.
The articles made by the students under the guidance of their teachers and Parents are proved to be an effective aiding tool in the teaching-learning process. The experience gained by the student while in the making process helps him understand the concepts. Large number of parents of the Primary classes students turned up for the NIPUN Mela.
