Car Nicobar Jan 23: The 73rd Police Raising Week was observed from 16th to 22nd January 2025 with great enthusiasm across the Nicobar District. A series of events were organized by the police stations of Nicobar District to engage the community, promote awareness, and highlight the role of Police in ensuring security and safety of the society. On 20/01/2025 essay competitions were conducted at various schools to inspire and encourage students to think creatively. These competitions were held at GSSS Malacca by PS Car Nicobar, Govt. Model Secondary School, Kamorta by PS Nancowrie, GSSS Kapanga by PS Katchal, and GSSS Campbell Bay by PS Campbell Bay, where students participated enthusiastically.

On 21/01/2025 awareness programs were also a key highlight during observance of Raising day week. PS Car Nicobar held a session at Kinyuka Village to educate the public on the POCSO Act, the harmful effects of alcohol and drugs, and the importance of reporting suspicious items. PS Nancowrie conducted an interactive program at Chota Enaka Community Hall, sensitizing around 35 students on cybercrime, traffic rules, and the ill effects of alcohol. PS Katchal organized an awareness session for girl students at GSSS Kapanga, focusing on women-related issues and the POCSO Act, and a separate program at Japan Tikery Village, educating villagers on the dangers of cybercrime and the need to safeguard personal information. Similarly, PS Campbell Bay conducted awareness programs at GSSS Vijay Nagar and Rajiv Nagar Village, which were attended by 80 students and 50 villagers, respectively, focusing on topics like substance abuse and cyber safety.

In addition to these, PS Campbell Bay organized a bike rally involving staff from the Police Station, Police Radio, and Fire Service, covering key areas of the town. PS Katchal hosted a Yoga session for Police and IRBn personnel, emphasizing mental and physical well-being.

The observance concluded on 22th January 2025 with a Bada khana organized at the District Headquarters, Car Nicobar. The gathering brought together police personnel and their families, creating a joyous and memorable atmosphere. Senior officers and staff members participated enthusiastically, making the event a fitting culmination of the week-long observance. Through these activities, the Nicobar District Police demonstrated their commitment to community engagement, raising awareness, and developing stronger bonds with the public.
