Car Nicobar, Feb. 17: The closing ceremony of the prestigious XXVI Vice President of India Cup Soccer Championship 2024-25 was held at BJR Stadium, Tamaloo, Car Nicobar today. Shri Amit Kale, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, Nicobar District, graced the occasion as the chief guest. Shri Lionald Nicomede, Chairman, Tribal Council, Car Nicobar was the guest of honour. Shri Muneer Ahmed, Assistant Commissioner (HQ), Car Nicobar, Shri Solomon Samuel, Deputy Superintendent of Police, and Rt. Rev. Thomas Nathan, Bishop, A&N Diocese were present on the occasion.

The Deputy Commissioner, Nicobar District, gave away the trophies and medals to the winning teams. The A&N Command team emerged as the champion, receiving a cash prize of Rs. 50,000 along with the winner’s trophy. The Runner-up, Sri Vijaya Puram, was awarded a cash prize of Rs. 35,000 along with a trophy. The 2nd Runner-up, Nancowrie Team, received a cash award of Rs. 25,000 along with a trophy.

Best Goal Keeper Manoranjan Toppo of A & N Command team was awarded with trophy & cash prize of Rs.5000/- and the Best Emerging Player of the Tournament Ronaldo of Car Nicobar team was awarded with trophy and a cash prize of Rs.5000/-. Highest Scorer of the tournament Nikhileon Francis of Sri Vijaya Puram Team with 4 goals was awarded with cash prize of Rs.5000/- and the Best Discipline Team trophy was awarded to Campbell Bay team.
