Suddenly little online ads are appearing on social media, telling us what to eat, what not to eat and the illnesses and diseases you can get by eating the wrong food. It doesn’t stop there, other ads mention wrong ways of exercising, the wrong way of sleeping and we are filled with dread!
Or, we are given advice on how to lose weight quickly, and how to cough or which finger to press when we have a heart attack. Even absolutely ridiculous ways to cure diabetes or decrease your blood pressure, with the warning that the medicines you are now taking, or the exercise you are now doing are dangerous in the long run.
Fear is the key, and you, fooled by these highly convincing ads, follow their advice, and learn later with much regret how foolish you’ve been.
I’d gone to a mall the other day and found toothpicks being sold, mentioning some disease or other you could get by not using a toothpick of the highest brand! Imagine even that simple piece of wood you shoved so gracelessly between your teeth had imitation brothers waiting to tear your precious teeth apart!
And the public reading the advertising, fall victim to the marketing strategies and buy them in thousands!
Like I said, fear is the key!
Fear is also the key that drives some of our silly insecurities: We hear politicians especially the present lot shouting, ‘Don’t trust people of another faith because he might steal your sister or daughter, and we start distrusting our best friends, thinking they have some magical power over our women or over our lives!
Or it could be insecurities and baggage we’ve had from childhood; scared of new places, new jobs, scared about making friends, and we stand gun in hand or maybe with the better toothpick preventing ourselves from moving forward or stopping ourselves from trusting!
What we need to do is address these ‘fear filled statements’: Go to professionals. Open your minds to realistic thinking, “Did that friend of yours from another faith, ever break your trust?”
And you may be pleasantly surprised to find you’ve been fooled!
The same with your baggage of fears and insecurities; address them! Do you really think your daughter or sister is going to run away with anybody or everybody just because the clever politician says so?
Don’t you think that new job could give you fresh opportunities to change your life and take you places? Or maybe it’s going to a new city to join a good college? Stop being fearful, just go!
Stop looking at those online ads, or listening to people who ignite fear through clever words. Fear is a key that is being used. Take the same key from them and unlock your mind..!
