“The best colour in the whole world is the one that looks good on you”, Coco Chanel.

Likewise, contouring taught us, where there is darkness, there must also be light.

In the last edition we had discussed about the different shapes of faces.Today we shall continue about the remaining types of face shapes as well.

“Nature gives you the face you have at twenty, it is up to you to merit the face you have at fifty”, Coco Chanel.

With the right technique, any girl can be a makeup artist. Coming back to the topic let’s start with the rectangle face.

Rectangle Face:

Contour on the corners of the either side of your forehead and across the hairline.

Contour you jaw blending up to the bottom of your ear.

Oblong Face:

Contour the lower section of your chin and it is suggested to apply blush to the apple of your cheek to make your face look wide.

Heart Face:

Contour at the temples and cheeks to diminish the width of your upper face.

Highlight your forehead and chin to draw attention to the centre of your face.

Triangle Face:

Contour on the jawline and cheeks to minimise the width.

Highlight your forehead, under eye and your chin to draw attention to the centre of your face.

Square Face:

Contour on the corners of your forehead, followed by contouring the jaw blending up to the bottom of your ear.

You can also highlight the centre of your forehead and chin as well.

Round Face:

Contour your temples, cheeks and jawline.

Highlight the centre of your forehead and chin.

So now we are done with all the different face shapes and I am sure now you all are aware about your own face shape. Enjoy your makeup, keep smiling because SMILE is the best makeup that last forever.

Always remember STYLE is a way to say who you are without having to speak but ELEGANCE is when the inside is as beautiful as the outside.

Stay tuned for another exciting topic in our next edition until then love yourself, spread happiness and take good care of yourself.

The greatest gift a leader can gift himself or herself, is to gift oneself a team who have the freedom to disagree with the leader.

“Sir, I don’t agree with your views!” is a statement one should welcome in a meeting, whether it’s government, corporate or religious. Because that disagreement is founded on a thought that has already been expressed, which means that the thought has moved forward, and whatever comes out of that debate which follows, will be a deeper, wider and broader viewpoint.

If there are ten people at the meeting, it is the collective intelligence of ten, instead of just one.

History books will tell you without hesitation that such combined thinking has always moved the world forward.

Rulers of yore who had their cabinet filled with ‘yes men’ soon found themselves on the streets.

One mistake we make is to mistake a strong man as one who takes no advice but his own. On the contrary that is a weak person. His insecurity makes him feel that any contradiction to his views is a personal affront.

No, it isn’t, and the day, he or she is willing to just listen and agree or disagree later. Is able to use debate to try and convince opponents, then that man or woman is on his or her way towards being a strong leader.

A strong leader will allow people the freedom to disagree.

A weak leader clamps down on those who do so.

To find out how the greatest nation in the world, reached that pinnacle, one has only got to open one’s books of history and see arguments that fashioned great thought.

To understand this even further, one has to accept that each of us is blessed by our creator with different gifts that mould our belief systems. A businessman who has come up by his britches, may feel that hard work is the only way to success and looks down on handouts and freebies, whereas someone who was helped with a scholarship or financial grant, will most probably have a compassionate heart to help the less fortunate as he was helped.

These two minds will collectively shape an idea that can better society. And if it’s ten minds, more ideas and a better design. All this comes through argument, debate and convincing.

But when a company or country starts curbing the freedom to disagree, then comes a quick and steady decline of that body.

“Sir, I don’t agree with your views!”

“Come to Delhi, sit with me, and let us listen to one another!”

That is the only way forward. Any other route spells disaster..!

What is a Squat?

A squat is a functional movement that is used to build and develop ones leg muscles, which includes Quadriceps, hamstrings, glutes and calves.

One uses a squat in their day to day life but never notices it, like when you sit on a chair or get up from a chair you knowingly or unknowingly use your quadricep muscles to complete that movement or goal.

Similarly, when one reaches out for something that is beyond ones height/reach and they tip-toe to reach for it, one uses their claves to raise themselves up to complete the movement.

There are a variety of squat variations focusing on the various parts of the leg muscles, but there is one movement that is known for its benefits over-all, and that movement is ‘A Squat’.

Let’s get started with some Squat Variations

Stand with your foot shoulder width apart i.e. foot right under the furthest part of your shoulders.

Keep a very slight Bend on your knees and push your hips backwards.

Now, lower yourself towards the floor keeping in mind that your heels should always be firm on the floor and hips always extended on the way down.

And then, push yourself up with the pressure on your heels but remember DO NOT ever straighten/lock your knees.

TIPS:

This is strictly for when doing barbell squats.

Always keep in mind, before you even un-rack the bar from the squat rack or power rack, plant both feet under you (not necessarily shoulder width apart) and push the bar up and the take posture and squat. This helps you to get that firm stance before even you start the movement.

Where to place the bar?

You have the option to do a “high bar squat” or a “low bar squat”.The difference between the two is basically where you place the bar.

On a high bar squat, you place the bar on the traps, whereas on a low bar squat you place the bar on the lower part of your traps. And both have different purposes.

So keep grinding! Ciao, till next week!
