Port Blair, Dec. 20: The Andaman and Nicobar Island’s Environmental Team (ANET) – Centre for Island Ecology, is an environment based agency carrying out research, conservation and educational activities. ANET has been conducting educational programmes where students are taken out on adventure walks through the various island ecosystems, which provide them with opportunities for interactive, hands-on learning.

Learning is through seeing and observing where studio and field activities are included that cover topics from school curriculum and help develop an understanding of the natural world’s processes – patterns, relationships and contexts by observing.

Learning takes place through personal sessions, presentations, discussions and in the field. Students learn best from active engagement and ecological literacy fosters a knowledge and understanding that is essential to sustainable living.

ANET has announced its weekend environmental camp for middle school students of the Andaman Islands. The camp will be held at ANET based at North Wandoor.
