Port Blair, Jan. 18: The Bharatiya Janta Party, A&N Islands convened public meetings at various places in connection with the issues relating to Buffer Zone/PAT Regulation/ATR etc. People in huge number assembled in all the meetings.
On 11th Jan. 2012, a public meeting was held under the Chairmanship of Shri Biju Gurudasan, Pradhan in the Baratang Community Hall. Another such meeting was held on 16th Jan. 2012 under the Chairmanship of Shri Sampat Kumar Roy, Pradhan.
Similar public meetings were also held in Bakultala Panchayat Hall on 17th Jan. 2012 under the Chairmanship of Shri Khuruma Rao, Zilla Parishad Member and at Rangat on the same day.
According to a communication from the MP Office, the crowd assembled there resolved that if the Buffer Zone is not lifted there shall be forty eight hours Road Roko Andolan at Kadamtala main road.
In all the meetings convened, the Member of Parliament, Shri Bishnu Pada Ray was present and addressed the crowd.
