Port Blair, July 12: The 17th governing body meeting of District Rural Development Agency (DRDA), South Andaman was held under the Chairmanship of Adhyaksha, Zilla Parishad (Chairman, DRDA Governing Body), Port Blair in the conference hall of Zilla Parishad today. The Chairperson, State Social Advisory Board, Pramukhs of Prothrapur, Ferrargunj and Little Andaman, GM, NABARD, Lead District Manager, BDOs of Prothrapur, Ferrargunj and Little Andaman also attended the meeting. 

 

In the meeting, the achievements under Indira Awas Yojana (IAY) and Swarnjayanti Gram Swarozgar Yojana (SGSY) made during 2010-11 and the other issues for the implementation of the Rural Development Schemes were discussed. During 2010-11, sanction orders for 284 houses have been issued against the target of 160 houses under IAY. 34 Self Help Groups (SHGs) have been formed against the target of 15 SHGs and 226 individual swarozgaries have also been assisted against the target of 45 under SGSY scheme during 2010-11.
